 Infrared
security device detects human motion and alerts you, and others
you select, of any intrusion by calling you. It can
"guard" your home or office seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
If an intruder is detected it will sound a powerful 125 decibel
alarm to scare away the would-be intruder and alert those inside
to the attempted entry (the alarm feature can be disabled if you
prefer a silent alarm). Up to three pre-selected phone
numbers are automatically dialed and your pre-recorded message
(up to six seconds long) is played. You could program it
to call your cell phone, a friend or neighbor and play a message
you can record. Simple operation (can be installed by
anyone in minutes). Arms and disarms using a keypad.
Uses your current telephone line, an additional phone line is
not required.
Note: Will not work with digital phone systems. Most
home systems are not digital.
Comment: This
motion detector with auto-dialer could be a system in itself for
an apartment or condo. You may have seen TV ads for a
major company that will install a security system in your home
for $99. The catch is, it's a basic system, usually two
doors an d a motion sensor. Extra equipment is added at
full price. Also, you don't own the system, you lease it
with a 3-5 year monitoring contract @ $35-$45 per month.
And, in most areas, the monitoring station calls you first
before the police. By having the system call you, and you
call the police, at $35 per month, over five years, you save
over $2,000 !
